This comment has been made before (by Adrian), and is a currently open ticket: http://code.djangoproject.com/ticket/5423 This is an issue I would like to resolve, and this ticket contains two potential patches (although I suspect that the most recent patch will probably require some work before it is committed). The difficulty has been in getting a reliable test case - how big is "big"? If you can validate that either of these patches works for you, and/or provide a test case that demonstrates the issue, I would be most greatful.
