Sorry - Its worth noting that you could start by working with the EmailMultiAlternatives class in django.core.mail. It has a method "attach_alternative()" that works on the EmailMessage subclass to attach alternative representations of the content. I'm not sure what the "right" way to send an encrypted message with GPG is, but that might be something of use...
