Looks like the problem is with my svn client. It works with svn client
version 1.2.0, but doesn't work with 1.4.3

The error i'm getting is ...
svn: PROPFIND request failed on '/svn/django/trunk'
svn: PROPFIND of '/svn/django/trunk': could not connect to server
(http://code.djangoproject.com)
