1) read a Python book. Several good ones to choose from. Once you  
understand how the language works and how to "think like python" many  
things become easier.

2) python.org hosts a mailing list called "python-tutor". You can ask  
those new to python (or even programming) questions on that list  
without expecting insults or other rude behavior.
