The bug was in the oldforms system, and has been fixed in trunk and in the older releases we maintain support for; the multi-db branch went stagnant for a long time, and is only now being picked up by a maintainer again, so you'll want to either: A) Hold on until multi-db is synced up with the bugfixes in trunk, or B) Look at Django changeset 4676[1] and apply the changes there to your copy of multi-db.
