Great!! this is  better than I thought of working things out. Does it
matter where I enter it in the httpd.conf file ? (ie should it be at
the top ? )

Thank you Doug, I will also investigate your method, running php code
with django's url handling can make things easier for some pages,
especialy if both can pass parameters.
