Oh dear. This is not such a good suggestion. :-(

Quoting from the release notes for 0.96:

        "...we’re also releasing 0.96 now because we have a set of
        backwards-incompatible changes scheduled for the near future.
        Once completed, they will involve some code changes for
        application developers, so we recommend that you stick with
        Django 0.96 until the next official release;..."

There are going to be a various changes and tweaks between now and 1.0.
That is exactly why we released 0.96 last week. If you want to track the
development code at the moment, be prepared to continually read the
backwards compatible page and tolerate the odd breakage. We aren't
saying it's "gloves off" or anything -- but there are some unavoidable
changes that need to be made.
