You wouldn't say that if you'd seen my code... I'd love to be guided on application layout, in fact, it was only at the end of my first django project that I think I started to glimpse what "proper" object orientation is all about... Consider away... :-) You are right, this can never be a core piece of tech, because it is, as you say prescriptive... but I disagree that experts/adepts wouldn't want this. I'd love the ability to create things like a... a. Minimal Blog b. Minimal site with Registration / Form validation / Generic Views / Forgot Password etc c. Catalog site ... I imagine that creating those sorts of things is quite easy, but I would like to benefit from other peoples' experience exactly about application layout... of course they wouldn't have ALL the features, they'd be skeletons...
