Hello all,

I apologize in advance if this is not the right place. A Django king
recommended that I post here.

I am the founder of a start-up in Silicon Valley building a social-
networking platform in the fields of sports. We have used Django
platform for our prototype modeling and basically be able to show the
deep functionality of the product offerings to our angel investors.
And we "get" it so much. I should say we are a Python shop, so we get
Python too. :-)

I am looking for Django/Python consultants (and developers?) who know
this environment in and out to help me validate that Django can scale
when we get to 1 million online users (before Beijing Olympics in
2008. Our goal is to get to 10 million users by 2011.

The users are active, meaning they will be interacting with the
application intensively (quantified as logging in at least 4 times a
day). The closest example I can give you to get a feel for this
interactivity is eBay. When you post your auction or join an auction,
you keep visiting the site. Yes, e-mail notification can carry most
of the communication, but I just cited eBay to draw an analogy in
terms of the kind of "object" sports fans will be posting, reviewing
and joining.

For the right developer (and if s/he comes with a team), we can talk
about equity too. But to make life simple, at this stage I would like
to assess the scalability of Django.

Ok, please contact me or post your questions here and I will be happy
to respond.

Again, if this is not the appropriate place to discuss, please guide
me to the right medium.

Thank you so much.
