Exactly. You answered your question yourself. Just override the existing urls putting them above the (r'^admin/', include('django.contrib.admin.urls')).
For example: (r'^admin/yourapp/yourmodel/add/$', 'yourproject.yourapp.views.yourmodel_add'), (r'^admin/yourapp/yourmodel/(?P<object_id>[0-9]+)/$', 'yourproject.yourapp.views.yourmodel_change'), #...
