Not sure if this is what you're looking for, but I've used this and its works flawlessly... http://code.djangoproject.com/wiki/YUI-Django-AutoComplete Uses the Yahoo UI toolkit... I love Mochikit as a general JS toolkit, but it doesn't do dynamic drop-downs (last I checked anyway...)
