heh - I was hoping to see an answer myself.

I think enabling something in the middleware layer, or through your own authentication mechanism, is the answer. I haven't used it extensively, but I don't think it automatically gets updated when the user logs in - I think that's some additional processing that you may have to write around whatever login mechanism you use.
