I must say I don't really understand this question. If you're passing a parameter to the second view, it must be expecting the parameter anyway, so why can't you put it in the URL? And even if it's not in the main part of the URL, you can still pass GET parameters (the bits after the ?) without changing the urlconf, and access them in the view via `request.GET` - no need for a POST.
