Also, as Lloyd already said, you should offer more details about your problem. If you are coming from another programming language or frameworks, you mentioned PHP, you should try to stop comparing and doing things like you used to do in PHP. Learn to work with Django doing it the Python/Django way. I've worked for many years with PHP and Drupal and when I started with Django I found myself always thinking in PHP terms, even without noticing it. Eventually as you get more familiar with Django things will get easier. It requires time and a lot of reading, including source code reading.
