Hi frocco, Mysql was recently aquired by Oracle and the future isn't very bright for the database. So, if you have an application already using MySQL you can easly switch to mariadb https://mariadb.org/ or percona server www.percona.com. If you are starting a new project I strongly advise you to go for PostgreSQL.
