Should all work. I am happily running pointy-stick.com on CentOS 4.3 and haven't felt any real need to upgrade the Python version over there. At least mysql, PIL and ElementTree have been available basically forever (in terms of Pythonn versions). Of course, I'm not a really typical case: I'm need a way to test that Django continues to run on Python 2.3, since that version of Python will still be used in data centres and on desktops for a number of years yet.
