Ok - it sounds like we might just have different interpretations of what counts as a "limitation" or "efforts to improve the situation". I've looked at the threads you've mentioned, and as far as I can make out, they're either: 1) very old (the most recent is almost 12 months old), or 2) relatively minor feature requests/bug reports. I don't see anything that refers to "limitations in debugging", or "efforts to improve the situation". From the way you were describing it, it sounded like there was an active thread (or recent thread) discussing how Django's templates couldn't be debugged due to some fundamental problem in the design of the template language, and I was wondering how that thread had got past without me noticing. The two projects you point to both seem interesting; however as far as I'm aware, neither author has made any attempt to push them for inclusion in core. The fact that they're both able to exist as third party projects suggests to me that there isn't a fundamental "limitation" to debugging in Django's template language -- the language is perfectly debuggable, we perhaps just need to ship more tools to make it easier to debug out-of-the-box. That said, I'm always interested in hearing any proposal to improve debugging tools. > And if you were instead referring to my comment that there are threads > aplenty regarding IDEs, then: > https://groups.google.com/forum/?fromgroups#!searchin/django-users/best$20IDE Oh - *those* thread's I'm well aware of, and if I had the ability to kill them with fire, I would :-) Yours, Russ Magee %-) -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Django users" group.
