FYI : I got a free time-limited, license for PyCharm using their Open Source Project License ( apply here http://www.jetbrains.com/eforms/openSourceRequest.action?licenseRequest=PCOSL ).
Aptana+PyDev seemed heavy and bloated to me. PyCharm is much more focused on pure python development compared to Aptana which oozes Java and PyDev is something added on top. As mentioned, I only got a time-limited license for PyCharm and I'll be looking at other options if I cannot get my license renewed next year.
