Postgres comes pre-installed in OSX Lion for the first time (and mysql is no longer present). Yeah! I installed psycopg2 using pip. Then I kept getting the error message: psycopg2.OperationalError: could not connect to server: Permission denied Is the server running locally and accepting connections on Unix domain socket "/var/pgsql_socket/.s.PGSQL.5432"? The simple solution is to change your settings file so that HOST = 'localhost'. If it is set to '127.0.0.1' or not specified you will get the error above. >From google searches it appears some people are having this issue with MacPorts, Fink, and homebrew versions of Postgres as well, as of MacOS 10.7.1. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Django users" group.
