Not exactly, using ORM is pretty easy too. You would do something like this:
results.extra(select={
'distance':
'(acos(sin(latitude)*sin(%(latitude)f)+cos(latitude)*cos(%(latitude)f)*cos(%(longitude)f-longitude)))'
% {
'latitude': latitude,
'longitude': longitude
}
}).order_by('distance')
