Don't forget SO! This is precisely the problem, imo. IRC is too outdated, and the folks who built convore seem to agree there is room for improvement. And the number of emails on this list is unmanageable without a specialized tool, not to mention the fact that we answer the same questions repeatedly.
Maybe it's just a matter of endorsing SO more adamantly. When compared to the other solution, none is as flexible and complete. Couple that with an effort to improve our wiki and questions on how to lay out files for a project would be rare. But what do I know, I haven't given any serious thought to the matter. At this point all I wonder is if anybody else feels the same.
