Is there anything specific you're concerned about? Almost everything is applicable to the latest version. If you're not using trunk, then just being familiar with the 1.2 release notes will be enough to let you know if what you're reading is deprecated. Most Django books out there haven't ben updated for 1.2, but I wouldn't hesitate to use them as a resource. Django is a huge project; you're not going to find that a significant amount has changed in a point release.
