I agree with Bruno.. I'm a new user to Django, just started a week ago, coming from using just Python (for about a month) and had been using PHP frameworks before that).. I understood the purpose of the tutorial as just a basic intro, I think that its generally implied that once you get the basic "orientation" of things that you need to then dig through the API docs, etc, sure there have been some frustrating things that took me a little while to figure out but I think as long as the person has previous experience with web programming in an MVC style that the tutorial is fine
