can i do this in django template?
You can do this, where Venue.contests.items is a dictionary.
contestname contains the keys, eventcount contains the values.
<table>
{% for contestname, eventcount in Venue.contests.items %}
<tr>
<td><a href="/contests/{{contest.slug}}/">{{contestname}}</a></td>
<td>{{eventcount}}</td>
</tr>
{% endfor %}
</table>
