Fortran was a mainstream language
Objective-C is not a mainstream language.

But, mainstream language doesn't mean that these languages are the best.

Python is a good language, and same for Java, C#, Objective-C or Fortran.
Cobol is a good language (Hum, sorry but not for me !)
