There's a patch on the ticket but it is also marked as needing improvement -- I don't have time at the moment to look more closely into why exactly that was done. If you would be interested in pursuing getting a fix checked in for the problem, helping to improve the existing patch to address whatever problem exists with it would be a place to start.
