I've built a small website for a club with Django trunk so far and it's working very well. I'm ready to start thinking about member management -- user account creation, logins, member list and details pages, etc.
IIRC, there was some mention of a new auth system. Is the auth system documented here: http://www.djangoproject.com/documentation/authentication/ the right thing for what I'm shooting for? Is there a new one on the horizon I should hold out for and if so, how can I help test/contribute to it? Or is this something that requires some of the built-in auth stuff but needs some app of my own?
