There is a new branch that provides the infrastructure for this kind
of stuff, but I'm leaving OpenID, LDAP, and other backends as an
exercise for the reader at this point. If you're interested in
implementing it, I'll answer questions about how the infrastructure
works. I need to revise the initial docs one more time, but the
implementatiion is already in there. Hopefully I'll commit the docs
tonight.

I imagine a combination between this and the wiki page pointed out
would make a great start.
