Err, before running off into XSL land, you might want to try a few things beforehand.
Why not add some CSS to your XML feed, many newer browsers will render the XML using the CSS to give a human-readable output. I'd definitely do that before getting involved with XSL transforms (you'll likely have to call an XSLT processor programme from within your view methods - not a trivial thing to do).
