It shouldn't make that much difference. There have been a some bug fixes applied to the trunk since 0.91, but for the most part, the big ticket bugfixes are in magic-removal.

Is there a patch I can apply to get this to work?

Unfortunately, I don't believe so. Developer focus is pretty firmly on magic-removal at the moment, and there are some fairly major internal differences between the two streams; back porting of bug fixes is not always easy or possible.

I already tried
magic-removal thinking it'd be better to stay current, but that broke on
me in some ways too, like edit-inline not working, so I skipped that.

Magic-removal is not for the faint of heart - it's still a little volatile. However, it is getting a little bit better every day. In particular, I know edit-inline has had a few fixes applied to it in the last week or so (revision 2502, March 8).

Thus this leaves me no working option.  That sucks.  I can work around it
at the moment (I have other apps to work on besides the admin iface)

Sorry for the inconvenience.
