It's not just you - there are 4 unit tests that have been failing for about a month now (pretty much since the descriptor work was committed).
The 2 manipulator errors have been strategically ignored because the manipulators are going to get a severe workover in the near future (definitely before MR is merged to trunk, hopefully during the PyCon sprint).
I have been meaning to look at the 2 bugs in the one-to-one tests for a while, but I keep getting distracted by other bright shiny objects. I am hoping to get a chance to look at them in the next day or so.
Are the failing unit tests the cause of your problems? Unknown, but certainly possible. Compare your code with the o2o unit tests that are failing and see if there are any similarities. If there aren't any similarities, let us know - you may have found a bug that isn't covered by the unit test suite.

Cool. I was checking out m-r today and found that the unit tests don't
pass. Is that correct, or is it just me? I'm seeing errors in
'manipulators' and 'one_to_one'. This isn't a slam or anything, I know
the branch is work in progress, and I wouldn't expect the tests to all
pass at this point. I'm just curious if this is explains why I can't
get a one-to-one field in my model to work (using m-r).
