I am running Ubuntu 5.10, Python 2.4.2, MySQL 4.1.12, and MySQLdb 1.2.1c3, and I have the same problem. It may be that this is a problem introduced in a recent release, because all three of us have brought it up around the same time. I will post a solution if I find one, but for now, I have to keep digging!
