For my Japanese<>Dutch dictionary project I didn't have to do anything fancy.
Only thing I had added to my base template is: <meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html;charset=utf-8" /> Nothing else is/was needed. -- Jeroen Ruigrok van der Werven
