I checked this, and it appears that the underlying issue was addressed in
commit https://github.com/django/django/commit/33a52cde08 (Ref.
https://code.djangoproject.com/ticket/16040), which updated the test
client to preserve the scheme, host, and port when following redirects.
Since there are no explicit tests covering this specific PREPEND_WWW
scenario, adding a regression test (as in PR #20781) should be sufficient
to close this ticket.
