Comment:

 I think this would need some consensus on the DevelopersMailingList. I'm
 not convinced that a generic class would be useful in many cases. It's
 also [https://docs.djangoproject.com/en/stable/topics/class-based-
 views/mixins/#more-than-just-html documented] how to create a mixin if
 you’re writing an API, and every view should return JSON instead of
 rendered HTML.
