I allways install poedit before using makemessages on os x. I think it comes with the libraries you are missing.

add it your path

There is no libglib-2.0.0.dylib in /usr/local/lib/, but I do find it
in /sw/lib/ (where it is an alias to libglib-2.0.0.1200.0.dylib)

I do not understand very much of this, and any help would be
appreciated.
