Hmmm, I tried commit cea13f4 (current master at the time of this writing).
It turned
l = [
1, # one
2, # two
3, # three
]
into
l = [1, 2, 3] # one # two # three
Maybe in your case the line limit kicked in and prevented the reformatting?
