Daniel, in the budget request we added an item to perform a user experience
research. User experience research normally includes interviews and
shadowing sessions that aim to study an individual's experience while
trying to achieve a desired outcome.

I was initially thinking on focusing the research in the experience that
the under represented groups surfaced in this survey have when they *try*
to contribute to an Apache project for the first time.

This research is precisely what I understand you're requesting here. Happy
to see you agree with that proposal.

Additionally, we submitted another budget request item to redesign the
current survey with the objective of bringing a better understanding of our
current status.
