Organizations need a process for evaluating incidents like this fairly and objectively. In hindsight, it is really hard to be sure for people who were not there. For example, when Linus made some comments at DebConf there was a big fuss. Many people complained that nobody was willing to interrupt Linus. People want to have their cake and eat it too. In parallel with all that, I feel it is important to help everybody develop their own speaking skills. When multiple people have the same level of confidence as RMS it will do a lot more to help distribute power.
