[SL] Try adding a portgroup, like this:


<network>
  <name>br0</name>
  <forward mode='bridge'/>
  <bridge name='br0'/>
  <virtualport type='openvswitch'/>
  <portgroup name='default' default='yes'>
  </portgroup>
</network>

Let me know how that works. I'm using this configuration actively right now on 
Ubuntu 14.04, KVM, libvirt 1.2.2, and OVS 2.3.2.
