Oracle virtualbox do redirect tcp ports, I don't know if it happen between machines, maybe this is active. I'm using the same setup, OVS with Floodlight Controller, and at now work fine. Try a ping and telnet test between them. I have attached screenshots that better explain the configuration that I'm using. The OpenVSwitch (OVS) is configured on an Oracle Virtualbox Ubuntu VM and the Floodlight Controller is configured on another Ubuntu VM sitting in the Oracle Virtualbox as well. I suspect that when OVS is first set up, it will drop all network traffic until a connection is set up with the Floodlight controller and will involve using the in-band connection and this needs to be configured on the Bridges Table (disable-in-band: set to "false") and the Controller Table (connection_mode set to "in-band"). This in-band connection then allows the controller to set up the flow tables of OVS. Are my suspicions correct ? If so, I need your kind assistance in getting into the tables to modify them because at the moment, I can read the tables as indicated in the screenshots but can't modify them. I would also like to seek your kind assistance in learning how to upload flow entry files into the OVS. I'm totally new to OVS and Floodlight. Any assistance in these areas is very much appreciated.
