Open vSwitch doesn't have any built-in integration with libvirt, but on the other hand libvirt does have some support for Open vSwitch, so perhaps you should try inquiring on a libvirt mailing list.
Also, version 1.4.0 is four minor versions behind, seeing as we just released 1.4.4. You might try a new version.
