I wouldn't think it a good idea to put cameras out on the public net
anyway. Wouldn't you put your camera on a private network which only
the camera server/recorder has access to?

It bugs me that hardware has so much software in it these days. Every
time I have to update a BIOS to get a feature working which the vendor
claimed the system had (Dell, I'm looking at you!) I realize that was
sold hardware that came broken straight out of the box.
