David, Not knowing your likes, dislikes and family size I can just tell you what I have done in North Jersey. I am on the committee for the conference and live in South Jersey. I go to the North West part of the state a lot. If you head west toward the Delaware River there are a lot of quaint little towns along the river. The Northern part of New Jersey has a lot of Wineries that may have specials for Mothers day. I am a wine nut, not a snob, just love to drink. If you go to http://www.newjerseywines.com/ you can see all of the NJ wineries and links to their web sites for specials they may have. Most in that area are a short drive.
Along the Delaware there is Lambertville NJ. Directly across from New Hope PA. You can actually park on one side of the river and visit both places, if you like to walk. Both towns are a happening place on Mother's day. the Lambertville Station is a great place to eat (you will need reservations). Also Lambertville has their own Microbrew, Riverhorse Brewery www.riverhorse.com. They are open Sunday. In New Hope there a bunch of places t eat and shop. Both towns are loaded with Antique shops and curiosity shops. Further North on the Delaware is a small town called Milford. I have stayed there in a B&B "Chestnut Hill on the Delaware". The town web site is www.milfordnj.org. The Milford Oyster House is a great Restaurant, again you will have to call ahead. Shockingly there are two nice wineries just a 10 minute ride north of there. Vila Milagro and Alba. Vila Milagro is a run by an Author and her husband. They make a smalll variety of wines. Also in Milford is the Ship Inn. The first MicroBrew Pub in New Jersey. They offer a full menu and lots of home brewed beer www.shipinn.com. I have to look into my files for stuff closer to New Brunswick as the only time I have been in that area has been for Rutgers Football. I will post some more things after I do some digging. John J. More specifically I'm going to be bringing my family along, and we'll be staying at the conference hotel until Sunday morning. That Sunday happens to be Mother's Day, so I'd love to find something special to do on Sunday. I'm tempted to drive up to NYC and do something there, or start heading home and stop somewhere in the Philadelphia area, but I'm looking for other ideas. Do you know a special restaurant, or a nice out of the ordinary place to go enjoy a peaceful afternoon? -David _______________________________________________ Discuss mailing list Discuss@lopsa.org http://lopsa.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/discuss This list provided by the League of Professional System Administrators http://lopsa.org/ _______________________________________________ Discuss mailing list Discuss@lopsa.org http://lopsa.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/discuss This list provided by the League of Professional System Administrators http://lopsa.org/
