I was not happy with unison. I forget why, but whatever it was ... was significant enough that I barely gave it a passing glance. I was unhappy with them all until I came across GoodSync. If you feel like paying for it, it's dirt cheap. But I think they give you a 14-day or 30-day trial anyway. It sounds like you could solve your whole thing using just the trial. Personally, I pay for it on all my computers, $15 per license.
