I prefer ConceptDraw on Mac. It is very convenient and their tech support is kind of cool too. I had one time needed a healthcare/medicine related database (icon/logo) and they just send me one to use for my project. That was very nice.
The best part of the ConceptDraw is actually if you have the PRO version that has the other two parts: the MindMap and Project (Manager). The combinational power is very handy. Especially if you are tying to put together a project with ideas and suggestions, the MindMap is a quick tool to get things organized for brainstorming and for group presentation before you form the flowchart but you may directly export the idea from MindMap to the ConceptDraw to generate that. I did some collaborational work between Visio and ConceptDraw but the embedded database (Excel with Visio) did not work well with ConceptDraw. Did not have any other tests after that. The ConceptDraw product is compatible with Windows platform. http://www.conceptdraw.com/en/ They offer trial version and academic discounts too.
