Also, I think it helps to remember who "the customer" is: the people
who pay for the goods and services we provide. Users in corporate,
research and educational environments typically are not customers. For
good and for ill, our customers are the same managers and executives
who we often malign for their lack of technical knowledge and their
reverence for check marks on bullet lists of features.
