I think that is my essence of my complaint. Too complicated for someone who isn't studied in it.
I am pretty sure I didn't install anything other than standard Debian ZFS packages, but I can't be positive. I know I had choices and decisions to make and I might have messed up with something else. And whoever built the arm64 binaries for the Pi 4 might have messed up something, too.
