I'm working my way through the tutorials and have come across a problem when viewing

The message "Failed to parse (MathML with SVG or PNG fallback (recommended for modern browsers and
accessibility tools): Invalid response ("Math extension cannot connect to Restbase.") from server
"https://en.wikipedia.org/api/rest_v1/":):" is littered throughout the page in bold, red coloured text.
Since I do see images, I assume they are what the message is referring to but I am not sure. There
could be information I'm not seeing.
This happens on my Ubuntu 18.0.4 LTS installation with firefox 89.0 and
Chrome 95.0.4638.69.
It also happens on a Ubuntu 20.0.4 LTS VM using firefox 94.0.
Googling indicates a problem on the mediawiki server.
Curious as to whether anyone else is seeing this problem.
