@Cinaed, Thanks for that advice. In fact I do use the last 8 digits of the S/N, and it does find the device, and the simple situations work fine, but my question was about gnuradio OOT architecture.
Specifically, for a new OOT block, I would like to know if there is any constraint concerning optional source & sink ports.
